We are currently inviting people from across The Hills community to join two Zero DFV Goal Squads, which will operate over the next 12 months.
During the past year, The Hills community worked together to create The Hills Zero DFV Navbook. Launched by the community of May 21, 2025, the Navbook outlines essential information about DFV, the support available in The Hills, a five-year vision for the elimination of domestic and family violence (DFV), and three prioritised goals.
Goal Squads are teams of community members dedicated to now progressing the plans in the Navbook.
We will have two Goal Squads operating during the 2025-2026 financial year. Those are:
Amplifier Squad
This Goal Squad dedicates itself to engaging the hearts and minds of the broader community in the journey toward Zero DFV. In the year ahead, efforts will focus on engaging with your immediate community to share the Zero DFV key messages across social media and via community signage and posters.
If you know people in prioritised settings, such as schools, sports clubs, community groups, and cultural associations, we'd love to hear from you.
Expert Squad
This Goal Squad will consist of individuals with subject matter expertise. They will focus on identifying the strategic gaps that the community needs to address to achieve the prioritised goals, as well as potential solution owners.
We invite individuals to participate who have training and practical experience in areas such as DFV prevention, education, counselling, self-esteem, and support programs within The Hills Shire.
FAQs
How much time is required?
- We request a minimum of four hours a month, with flexibility. This time will include attending a one-hour monthly meeting online, with additional time to connect with your community. You can choose to do this at a time and pace that suits you.
Is this voluntary?
- Yes. Your participation in the Goal Squads is voluntary.
